Arlisa WilliamsIt is hard to believe that we only have two weekends of play remaining. We are heading to St. John’s and Providence this weekend after spending the last two weekends in the Midwest. We played hard against St. John’s at our place earlier this year and defeated Providence. It’s been a while since we had two wins in a weekend. Listening to the players talk and watching them get after it at practice demonstrate how hungry they are for a weekend sweep. If you are near Queens or Providence, we hope that you’ll come out and lend us your voices. Fans in the stands always makes competing on the road just a little easier.

Next weekend, we are at home for the final time in 2014. We will celebrate six players, Elizabeth Riggins, MacKenzie Simpson, Alex Johnson, Kieley Culbertson, Danielle White, and Alyssa Gerardi, and all that they contributed to our program during their tenure on the Hilltop. We started recruiting Liz, our 5th year senior, in 2008. That was year two for me at Georgetown. It seems like yesterday that she said she wanted to be a Hoya. Thankfully, once a Hoya, always a Hoya because I am not ready to say good-bye to her or to any of our departing players.

We are going to enjoy these last few weeks together and leave it all on the floor with no regrets. Thank you for all that you do for Georgetown Volleyball. Our group is a special one and they would not leave the legacy they are leaving on the court, in the classroom and in the community without your support.

Hoya Saxa!
