Hoya Fans:

We are just a few days away from the start of the 2015-16 season! In this newsletter, we share a few reflections from our preseason events and preview some of the fun events the Hoya Hoop Club has in store for this season.

Hoya Hoop Club Events

The Hoya Hoop Club is busy working on many fun opportunities for Hoya fans to support the team and celebrate together this season!

2K Classic: The Hoyas have an early trip to the Garden this year and will play Wisconsin at MSG on Friday, November 20 (Tipoff: 5:00 pm ET), and either Duke or VCU on Sunday, November 22 (Tipoff: TBD – either 1 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. ET).

Friday: After the Friday games, please join the Georgetown Club of Metropolitan New York at American Whiskey (247 W 30th Street) where happy hour specials will last from 9 p.m. until close.

Sunday: The Hoya Hoop Club will be hosting a pre-game event on Sunday at the Eventi Hotel (851 6th Avenue). To register, please click here.

Georgetown vs. Syracuse: The Hoya Hoop Club will be hosting an event before the Syracuse game on December 5 in the upstairs room at Clyde’s Gallery Place, starting at 11 am. To register, please click here.

Hoya Hoop Club Donor Appreciation Event:  Our annual Donor Appreciation Event will be before the Providence game on Saturday, January 30. As in prior years, we will be giving away tickets to the BIG EAST Tournament and other great prizes.

Gray Out: Our annual Gray Out game will be on Saturday, February 20 when we host Xavier.

Senior Night: We will celebrate our seniors the following weekend, when we host Butler on February 27.

Bus Trips: Our bus trips over the past couple years have been a huge success. We hope to fill the bus again this year when we head to Philadelphia for the last game of the regular season against Villanova on March 5.

DC Pre-/Postgame Events: As we’ve done over the last couple years, the Hoya Hoop Club will be hosting pre- and/or postgame events for every home game. Most of them will again be at Gordon Biersch, and we will be meeting there immediately after each of the first three home games. Please check our weekly newsletters and Twitter feed for details on where and when to meet throughout the season.

Game Watches: Join the Georgetown Club of Metropolitan DC, the Hoya Hoop Club, Casual Hoya, the Stonewalls and Hoyas Unlimited at the official Georgetown Men’s Basketball gamewatch this season! For men’s basketball away games in 2015-16, we will be at Penn Social in Penn Quarter/Chinatown. The staff there has guaranteed we will have sound on for every game, and specials will include the following all season: $6 BBQ Wraps; $5 Craft Beer Rotating Selection; $4 Blue Moon/Shock Tops; $3 Bud Lights; $4 “Three Point” Mystery Shot; $5 Pretzels.

Out of Town Game Watches: Please email me at mpguerrera@me.com if you or your local Georgetown alumni club will be hosting game watch parties, and we will be happy to promote those parties in our weekly newsletter.

San Francisco: Join your fellow Hoya Fans for the Maryland game on November 17 at 6:00 p.m. PT at the Bus Stop (1901 Union Street). Specials include $5 Jack Daniels, $1 off all drafts, $2 off Bud Light buckets.

Hoya Hoop Club Open Practice

On October 24, Coach Thompson and the Hoya Hoop Club hosted the annual open practice for Hoya Hoop Club members. The 500 fans in attendance at O’Donovan Hall enjoyed the opportunity to meet the team and Coach Thompson, to get their autographs and to listen to Coach Thompson answer questions about the team and the upcoming season. The fans then all headed to McDonough (past the Thompson Center, which is shooting up before our eyes) to watch the Hoyas practice. To view a photo gallery of the event, please click here.

Your Opportunity To Support The Hoyas!

Hoya fans have 31 opportunities to see the Hoyas play in the regular season this year, including 17 at home at Verizon Center. Our most important request is that everyone gets out to as many games as possible to support the team at home and on the road. You will be glad you did.

Home Game Tickets:

Current men’s basketball planholders and athletics donors at the $50 level or above can order home game tickets directly through the Georgetown Athletic Ticket Office. For more information and to purchase, please visit here. Tickets are also available to the public for all home games through Ticketmaster.

Away Game Tickets:

Current men’s basketball planholders and athletics donors at the $50 level or above have the added benefit of being eligible to order away game tickets through Georgetown Athletics. Tickets to away games are not yet available, but are expected to go on sale in approximately early December. At that time, more information will be sent by e-mail and posted to this webpage.
