Brian Wiese Head ShotSpring training has wrapped up for us here on the Hilltop, and our home exhibition against Duke tied it up nicely with a bow. Duke provided a very young, but very athletic and talented matchup for us. While we didn’t play poorly in the first half, we managed to concede two goals on two shots to go into halftime in a hole. The second half produced a much more spirited performance, along with two highlight reel goals from rising junior Alex Muyl and rising senior Josh Turnley. Duke asked to play an additional twenty minutes at the end of the match, which allowed us to knock in two more for a 4-2 score line. A good end to a good spring, and we are now looking forward to the injection of a very good freshman class into the group.

The boys will now shift their focus to Finals Week coming up around the corner, and focus on the “scholar” portion of their scholar-athlete moniker. They will take a quick break next week when we present our end of year awards and honor our departing senior class.  I’ll pass along the results from the awards ceremony along with announcing the captains for next year, and in the meantime, Go Hoyas!
