2020-21 Georgetown Men’s Basketball Season Ticket Renewal FAQ
Thank you so much for your support as a Georgetown Men’s Basketball season ticket holder. To offer flexibility to our most loyal fans during these challenging times, season ticket renewals have been postponed to a TBD later date. We put together this FAQ to make sure that our season ticket holders have all necessary information to make the decision that is best for them.
To best accommodate season ticket holders for the 2020-21 season, we have implemented:
- 20% price reduction in the ticket portion of the season ticket price
- “Georgetown Guarantee” refund policy: refunds will be issued for any games that are cancelled, rescheduled, or played without spectators; plus, season ticket holders can request a refund for all remaining games at any point in the season
- Flexible payment options including the “Pay AFTER We Play” plan – the most flexible payment plan in all of sports
- Enhanced season ticket exchange program

Renewing Your Season Tickets
Is there any action required at this time in order to renew my season tickets?
No, no action is required at this time. We only ask that you fill out this brief questionnaire to indicate your likelihood of renewing and to provide us with any thoughts/feedback.
When season ticket renewals begin, what will I need to do to secure my seats?
When the renewal process begins later this spring/summer (at a time TBD), a $20.00 per seat deposit will be required to renew your seats.
This $20.00 per seat deposit will apply to the ticket cost portion of your season tickets (it will not apply to the per-seat donation).
The $20.00 per seat deposit will be refundable if requested prior to the start of the season.
When is the season ticket renewal deadline?
The deadline by which to renew your season tickets has yet to be determined. The deadline will be announced when the season ticket renewal process begins later this spring/summer.
When is the per-seat donation due?
The deadline for the per-seat donation has yet to be determined. The deadline will be announced when the season ticket renewal process begins later this spring/summer.
Please do not make your per-seat donation at this time. Per-seat donations for 2020-21 season tickets must be made on or after July 1.

What is the “Pay AFTER We Play” payment plan?
The “Pay AFTER We Play” payment plan is the most flexible payment plan in all of sports. You will be automatically charged for the ticket cost for each game only after that game has been played.
Will other payment plans be offered?
Yes, we will offer a monthly payment plan as well as other options when we launch season ticket renewals. These options will allow season ticket holders to choose the one that best fits their needs.
What else should I know about payment plans?
All payment plans are interest-free.
When season ticket renewals begin later this spring/summer, you will see payment options when paying for your tickets through your MY HOYAS Account.
Payment plan options will be available for both the ticket cost and per-seat donation.
What if I’m currently enrolled in the Georgetown Forever payment plan with automatic renewal?
When the season ticket renewal process begins later this spring/summer, you will receive an email reminding you of your enrollment.
When the renewal process begins, you will be able to make changes to your payment plan (including withdrawing from automatic renewal, switching to the “Pay AFTER We Play” plan etc.). You will be able to make changes before any payments are charged. If you choose not to make any changes, you will be automatically enrolled in a monthly payment plan.
Even though no action is required at this time, if you would like to be removed from automatic renewal now, simply email the ticket office at email@example.com. Note: even if automatic renewal is removed from your account today, you will still receive information about how to renew your season tickets when the renewal process begins.
Season Ticket Exchange Program
What is the season ticket exchange program?
The ticket office launched this program a few years ago in order to provide our season ticket holders with increased flexibility and value.
The program provides season ticket holders with the opportunity to exchange season ticket seats to games that they will not be able to attend for extra tickets to a game they can attend.
How will this year’s season ticket exchange program differ from those in previous years?
In prior years, some premium games were not available as part of the exchange program. This year, all games will be available.
Will there be a cost to exchange my seats?
If you exchange tickets for a similar seat location for a similar game, there is no additional charge. If you exchange seats for better seats or a higher-demand game, there will be an additional cost. More information will be announced this fall.
“Georgetown Guarantee” Refund Policy
We know that your circumstances may change at a moment’s notice. Therefore, we created the “Georgetown Guarantee,” a refund policy which offers maximum flexibility and ensures that fans will receive their money back for any games that are cancelled, rescheduled, or played without spectators.
After renewing my season tickets, can I request a refund?
Season ticket holders can request a refund of their season tickets at any point in the season. At the time of the request, you will be refunded the ticket cost for all games that have yet to be played.
Please note that refunds of the per-seat donation will only be issued if a season ticket package is cancelled before the first game of the season.
What if a game is cancelled?
Fans will be automatically refunded for any games that are cancelled.
What if a game is rescheduled?
If and when an announcement about a rescheduled game is made, fans will be contacted with more information and options. Refunds will be available for any fans who wish to receive them.
What if games are played, but spectators are prohibited from attending?
Fans will be automatically refunded for any games where spectators are not permitted.
How much of a discount will I receive off last season’s season ticket price?
All season ticket holders will receive a 20% discount off the ticket-price portion of season tickets. The per-seat athletics contributions are unchanged from last season.

May I switch seat locations for the 2020-21 season?
Yes, once the renewal process begins, you will be able to easily change seat locations by contacting the ticket office.
If I’m adding seats or if friends/family are buying seats, will their seats be eligible for the discount as well?
Yes, all 2020-21 season tickets seats will be sold at the reduced price.
Will this price reduction also apply to future seasons?
This price reduction only applies to the 2020-21 men’s basketball season. Season ticket prices for future seasons have yet to be determined and will continue to be evaluated. Season ticket prices for the 2021-22 season will be announced in the spring of 2021.
Alternative Ticket Packages
What types of partial season ticket packages, mini-plan packages, and flex packages will be available?
The past few seasons we have offered the following options and will likely offer something similar for the upcoming season:
- Five-Game Mini-Plan
- Three-Game Mini-Plan
- Hoya Flexa: a flex package through which you choose your games as you go
More information on these packages will be announced this summer/fall when they go on sale.
