While I cannot predict the outcome of the game, the one thing I know for certain is that our team will compete extremely hard. We beat Marquette 10-9 earlier this year so I am sure we will be facing a motivated group. Our challenge is to execute our plan without getting caught up in the emotion of the game. After coming off a disappointing outing at Denver, we headed up to Rhode Island to take on Providence this past Saturday. I was very pleased with the outcome as the guys grinded out a win over a pesky Friar team 9-6. Continue reading →
It was an enjoyable weekend for the team as we earned our first victory of the year over the Hofstra Pride, 13-11! The staff was excited to see our players start the game with energy as we raced out to a 4-0 lead. This was something we addressed during the week of practice and the team responded well Continue reading →
Our coaching staff has been very pleased with the team’s attitude and effort in practice. We’re far from a finished product at this point but we have consistently improved each week. The environment in practice has been awesome – there is a lot of “chirping” between the guys in blue and the guys in gray! We will need that competitive spirit to unite us when we play against our opponents. Continue reading →
The clock is on, we face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in eight weeks! After speaking with each player at the end of the semester, it is apparent the team is ready for the challenge in Indiana. I am looking forward to seeing how the team responds after the break and to see their attitude towards every aspect of the program. Continue reading →
On Thursday, November 20, we had an alumni group meet up at Trattoria Il Mulino for a great dinner event. The food was great, and the company even better. It was awesome to see so many of our program’s supporters. As always, I really enjoyed hearing the stories about the past and love the passion our alumni have for Georgetown Lacrosse! After our scrimmages at the Landon School, we feel like we are headed into the next segment of the season in a good state of mind, both mentally and physically. It is always great to see our guys in game-like situations after having 19 practices with them. Overall, the staff was pleased with how we performed throughout the day. As always there is room for improvement and those games exposed some really good teaching points too. Continue reading →
We were able to do small group individual teaching and drilling on the field last week. On Friday, we split the squad up into Blue and Gray and scrimmaged for an hour. It is always fun to see the freshman run around with guys three and four years older than them and to see the college game in a full field setting. Continue reading →
This will be a busy week for the Hoyas as we play two games on Wednesday versus Mount St. Mary’s and Saturday at the Naval Academy. These are two really good tests for us as each game has an interesting dynamic. Continue reading →
I hope everyone is doing well. I know I can’t wait until some of this cold weather goes away, which means it’s officially lacrosse season. I just wanted to give you a recap of our scrimmage against Johns Hopkins and … Continue reading →
