Back on Campus

7976475I hope everyone had an enjoyable and restful summer.  I wanted to provide you with a few updates as we have started fall practice and are two weeks into strength training. The players returned in good shape, their effort has been strong, and the stick skills have been sharp.  The first week is typically an evaluation period to see who improved and kept up with their conditioning over the summer months.  So far, our staff has been really pleased with the attitude and enthusiasm of the team.  We are beginning to put in some of our basic concepts to as we look to improve our “Lacrosse IQ” and decision making.  We know we have a tough, athletic, motivated team coming in on September 28th, so we must be ready!!

The Alumni Game will be on MSF at 8 a.m. (Saturday, Sept. 28th).  That is also Homecoming Weekend with multiple Georgetown teams hosting games on campus.  We would love to see another awesome turnout like last year!  Trevor Casey has helped organize the event so if you would like to join, please contact him at MensLacrosseGU@gmail.com.  A week later we will attend the Play for Parkinsons tournament in Alexandria, VA to play against the University of Richmond and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Lastly, I would like to thank all of our supporters for your contributions to the program.  Last year, we set a record high for fundraising within the program!  Your support and passion for Georgetown Lacrosse is greatly appreciated!

Go Hoyas,

Kevin Warne
