At our team meeting on Sunday, I told the team that I am very happy with our overall effort. If you have seen us play this season, you can see the effort that our players give on each and every play. I also told the team that we must start to play smart, as well as hard. In spite of the penalties and missed assignments, we still were in the game versus a good Patriot League team until the last drive of the game. I am happy with our progress, but not satisfied with the results. We will work this week to play smarter and work towards a victory versus Bucknell. Continue reading →
The DC area was getting a good soaking this weekend, so we happily spent Saturday in Chicago where it was a beautiful, crisp day. We played at DePaul for the first time in my nine seasons at Georgetown, and had to contend with a determined and physical Blue Demon team on a field that was, at most, 70 yards wide. In all my years in collegiate rowing, I have never encountered an alumni group as supportive as what I have seen at Georgetown. Your love for the Hilltop and your passion for the team is palpable. It has been a pleasure every time I interact with alumni and I look forward to getting to know all of you better. I will try my best to do the program, which you hold so dear to your hearts, the justice it deserves. Continue reading →

Sunday’s match will be our “Play for a Cure” game honoring the special women in our lives that have fought breast cancer. If you happen to be in the area, we’d love to see you at MSF at noon to show your support.

A huge thank you to the Brauneis’ for preparing an awesome pre-game meal for us prior to our match against DePaul. More than that, we also had some Georgetown alumnae in the stands, Kirin Gil and Meg (Troller) Hudak, who helped cheer us to victory. It is our plan to build on this win as we move on to our next matches. We are at Villanova and Seton Hall this weekend, two teams with whom we consistently battle. Continue reading →
