Only a freshman, Terese Cannon has already made her mark on the 2014 Georgetown Volleyball team. Cannon is currently leading the team in kills with 156, averaging 2.89 per set. She also is second on the team in points, with 73.5 and has 27 assisted blocks on the year. Cannon comes to Georgetown as a two-time nominee for the New York Gatorade Player of the Year, and was named a National High School Junior of the Year finalist as well as to the All-American First Team in 2012. Cole Seiler has been a staple of Georgetown’s defense, making a start in 45 games already leading into his junior year. In 2013, Seiler scored two goals, including the game winner against Old Dominion, for four points on the season. He also was part of a defense that led the nation in shutout percentage (0.67). Senior defensive end Alec May was named the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) FCS National Defensive Lineman of the Week on Tuesday, September 23 when weekly awards were announced. The honor follow the Georgetown University football team’s 17-3 victory over Brown University on Saturday, September 20. Originally from Monrovia, Liberia, junior Melvin Snoh has been a reliable presence on the men’s soccer team. In his first two seasons on the Hilltop, Snoh played in 37 games with 10 starts. Daphne Corboz is a two-time All-American and was named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year in 2013, leading the team with 27 points. Corboz, who was also a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection and a preseason candidate for the Hermann Trophy, scored seven goals and had 13 assists. As one of three team captains of the 2014 Georgetown men’s soccer team, Tyler Rudy enters his senior season ready to cap off an accomplished career on the Hilltop. In 2013, Rudy appeared in all 21 games with 20 starts and was the fifth-leading scorer on the squad with two game winning goals. His three assists ranked him fourth on the team.
