Wonderful Achievements

December 13th, 2014

The team played some wonderful soccer and the future looks bright, as we had four freshmen and two sophomores start, which bodes well and we are already looking forward to spring season. We know we would never have managed to achieve all of this without your support and we truly stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. Continue reading

Heading to the Next Round

November 19th, 2014

Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you will probably have heard by now that we had a successful visit to Morgantown, WV this past weekend for our NCAA First Round match. Facing off against national power #7 West Virginia University, we headed west knowing we would have to battle hard to get a result against the two-time Big 12 Champions. Continue reading

Onto the BIG EAST Tournament

November 4th, 2014

The regular season drew to a close this weekend and I have to be honest, I really don’t know where the time went this fall. On Friday night, we faced off against my alma mater, Seton Hall, in a must win contest as we chased a good seeding in the BIG EAST Tournament and looked to build our resume for the NCAAs. DePaul’s earlier win over St. John’s meant that if we won against the Pirates, we would finish second and get a bye in the first round of the conference tournament. Continue reading

Opening the BIG EAST Slate

September 23rd, 2014

This past weekend, we only had one game and came away with a 2-0 win over a dogged Duquesne team. This was the last of our non-conference games and we finished that slate of games with a 5-2-2 record. To be fair, it is kind of where I expected us to be right now. Our non-conference schedule was rigorous with some tough games, but also had the added challenge of playing six of those away from the confines of Shaw Field. Continue reading

A Solid Start

September 2nd, 2014

Our next pair of games will be our toughest of the year. On Friday, we face off against Virginia Tech, and then play Wake Forest on Sunday at the Hokie Tournament. Both ACC powers will be a huge test for us and we are hoping to continue our good start to year. Continue reading

Opening Weekend

Hard to believe that we have already wrapped up preseason and are into the cut and thrust of the regular season. The girls obviously worked very hard over the summer and reported in great shape, which helps us tremendously. Continue reading

Heading to the NCAA Tournament

November 12th, 2013

Although we were confident we would be selected, after suffering huge disappointment two years ago, we were still anxiously waiting to see our name on the board. This Saturday, we host a very dangerous La Salle team at 1 p.m., our first ever NCAA home game in program history. Continue reading

Regular Season Finale

November 5th, 2013

I cannot finish this letter without mentioning our 6 special seniors who we honored on Saturday vs. Seton Hall: Kailey Blain, Kaitlin Brenn, Colleen Dinn, Mary Kroening, Emily Menges and Alexa St. Martin. Coaching here at Georgetown has allowed me to work with some wonderful soccer players and even more importantly great kids. Continue reading

Flying By

October 30th, 2013

It’s hard to believe that this weekend is the last regular season game of the year. This year has really flown by and it’s been a great season so far. Heading into Saturday’s 1 p.m. home game vs. Seton Hall, we are in great shape for postseason play, however we still need a result to ensure a top 2 finish and therefore a first round bye in the BIG EAST Tournament. Continue reading

Back to Business

October 22nd, 2013

While we still hope to catch Marquette with two games remaining, we are determined to finish in the top two which will put us straight into the Big East Tournament Semifinals. We continue to receive national respect in the soccer polls and currently sit # 6 in the NCAA RPI. Continue reading
